Chikara’s family belongs to Khedi Asra Village in Jhajjar district of Haryana, but he was born and grew up in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Chikara’s mother regularly took him to the cricket academy 16 km away from home in Muradnagar. But Swastik was not satisfied with the coaching, so his father took the approach. He started playing cricket at an early age and represented UP in Under-14 and Under-16 Tournaments. He scored 22 double centuries and 7 triple centuries at the junior level. At the age of 16 years old, he scored 585 runs in a 40-over match while Shaheed Ramprasad Bismil Smriti Open Cricket Tournament for the Mahi Cricket Club.
