Narayan Jagadeesan’s IPL journey has been characterized more by patience than by chances. In January 2018, the Chennai Super Kings picked him in the IPL auction for ₹20 lakhs as a second-string wicketkeeper to his idol, MS Dhoni. After two years of being on the bench, he finally got to play an IPL game for Chennai Super Kings on 10 October 2020 against Royal Challengers Bangalore and scored 33 runs on debut in 28 balls.
