This was the 67th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians failed to chase the target of 154 set by Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) in Wankhede Stadium. LSG Butlers was able to record a fantastic performance, the team was able to amass a decent 214 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and this in the 20 overs. There was positive run-making in the earlier and especially the middle overs of LSG’s innings. The bowling however was on point and the real stand out was the 86 run partnership between Pooran and Rahul. Finally, Pooran mimicked his T20 heroics and scored a half-century off just 19 balls, fantastic power show.
Piyush Chawla was the standout bowler for MI, taking 3 wickets for 29 runs in his 4-over spell. Nuwan Thushara also impressed with 3 wickets, but MI’s bowlers were unable to halt LSG’s charge in the middle overs.

Sharma made a good unbeaten of 68 from 38, however MI failed to reach the target despite a great display from Naman Dhir who scored 62 of 28 balls.
