Player of The Match – Jemimah Rodrigues

In this crucial match, when India were under pressure, the whole crowd was on their feet, expecting a miracle from the team. In such a pressure situation, Jemimah took her time, and instead of going for boundaries, she started to rotate strike. This helped the team build a partnership between her and Captain Harmanpreet. Once Jemimah settled on the pitch, she started playing shots and completed her century (100) on just 134 balls and helped India to cross the rope. During her innings she hit 14 boundaries and no sixes, that shows her patience and dedication. The Indian captain gave Jemimah free rein and scored 89 on 88 balls and contributed well to her team.

Conclusion

In this high-pressure world semi-final match, after losing the toss, India were on the back foot, especially when Australia succeeded in posting a mountain on the scoreboard. But the Indian team had an idea pitch favouring the batter and can chase this score if played with patience. Smriti scored 46 but got unlucky and was unfortunately out. However, after an early collapse, India bounced back and started building a partnership that helped the team to cross the rope without any problem. Australian bowlers had no answer, as the Indians had faced during the first innings. This cost Australia a match, and India knocked them out of the tournament and entered the final.
