ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium History

The ACA-VDCA Stadium was established in 2003, and its inauguration was held between the ODI of India and Pakistan on 5 April 2005, and also, MS Dhoni hit 148 runs. The stadium’s former name was Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, but in September 2009, the stadium was renamed as Andhra Cricket Association- Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association Cricket Stadium. In 2015 the test status was given, and the first match was held in November 2016, and India won by 246 runs against England. 

The stadium is also the home venue for various teams, such as the Deccan Chargers in 2012, for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015, as well as the Rising Pune Supergiants and the Mumbai Indians in 2016. In March 2025, the cricket stadium was renamed as the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
